What is Grout Color Sealing?
Permanent grout staining is something that happens when grout ages, is not maintained with the appropriate cleaning solutions, or is damaged due to pet urine or other spills.
When you have tile and grout installed, one of the most important things you can do is have it professionally cleaned AND sealed (90% of people don’t do this). If your grout is not sealed, it remains porous, and every time you mop or steam your floor, dirt is transferred from the tile across the grout lines where it is absorbed.
As the floor ages and continues to absorb soil, spills, etc., surface stains slowly turn into deep stains (keep in mind that stains are “permanent)” and once a stain occurs, it cannot be “cleaned away.”
No level of scrubbing, pressure washing, or acid washing will ever remove a matured stain from your grout, leaving you with two options, drill out the grout and replace or color seal.
In the industry, grout coloring is considered the best option for fully restoring grout lines. Grout coloring by Tru-Clean Surface Care is designed to make your grout lines look new while protecting them from various spills, soils, and other contaminates. And with annual cleaning by Tru-Clean Surface Care, we guarantee their look for as long as you live in your home!
Our Process
Once your tile and grout have been thoroughly cleaned, our technicians begin the coloring and protection process by carefully applying our proprietary blend of grout coloring dyes, mildewcides, and sealers. Our sealing agent is expertly applied by hand using an angled grout brush. Applying by hand allows our technicians to determine the appropriate amount of grout sealer to apply and enables them to manage the absorption rate to ensure a sufficient amount of sealer and colorant has been applied.
Why would anyone want to recolor their grout?
The first reason to apply grout colorant with sealer is that the grout lines are damaged and cannot be restored, even with a professional cleaning. Another reason is that a homeowner wants to lighten or darken the color of the grout to match a new interior or look.
When appropriately done by a professional, grout recoloring can restore your tired, old grout to a like-new appearance, while increasing its durability and maintainability. To maintain it, simply use a mild, pH-neutral cleaner in a floor steamer, string, or sponge mop.
Our Grout Coloring
As long as you live in your home warranty!
Tru-Clean Surface Cares grout color seal process is the BEST on the market! We use a water-based penetrating sealer with a color pigmentation dye, which means our color seal absorbs into the grout’s pores and will not chip or sit on the surface like others.
Before sealing a client’s grout, we perform an acid wash cleaning to ensure the grout joints are etched, residue-free, and ready to receive our grout color seal. When ready, we apply the color seal by hand, using a specialty brush to apply just the right amount, and then removing any access and perform touch-ups as necessary.
With continually acting fungicides and mildewcides, your grout stays cleaner and healthier than cheap acrylic or do-it-yourself sealers.
