Foul Odors In Your Home Or Business? We Eliminate Them!

Tru-Clean Surface Care’s expertise is often called upon to treat and eliminate odors in homes, places of business, hotels, RV’s, boats, and rental properties.

The odor source can be anything from cigarettes, water or fire damage, foul or old-smelling homes, or animal odors that won’t go away with cleaning and deodorizing.  To treat foul odors, Tru-Clean Surface Care employ’s an ozone shock treatment followed by enzymatic fogging.

Ozone shock treatment is a powerful method of odor elimination.  We flood an area with Ozone to break down odors and other pollutants and eliminate them at their source.  Once a site is treated with Ozone, that process is followed by an enzymatic fogging whereby we use enzymes to attack any remaining odor-causing molecules.  At the end of the service, the room, home, or business is odor-free.

Thunderstorms create Ozone or O3 and also from sunlight striking the earth’s atmosphere. To use an example of what an area smells like after it has been treated, we’ve all taken a walk after a thunderstorm and experienced the fresh smell in the air. That’s Ozone at work.  Ozone generators mimic the effects of a thunderstorm.

Odors develop from many sources and significantly impact indoor air quality, and in the case of businesses and hotels, the way a guest or business visitor evaluates your facility. From the carpet to the furniture,  bedrooms, restrooms, classrooms, lobbies,  and dining rooms, unwanted odors can develop and harbor almost anywhere. And the way your home or business smells sends out a signal about the level of quality.

What is Ozone?

Ozone (O3) is a highly charged form of the oxygen (O2) that we breathe. Outdoors, Ozone has been produced for millions of years. At ground level, Ozone (03) acts as an oxidizer to keep the air smelling fresh. In the upper atmosphere, Ozone acts as a protective layer that partially shields the earth from the sun’s UV rays. Life on earth as we know it could not exist without Ozone. This third oxygen atom (hence 03) is loosely attached, unstable, and seeks out pollutants. Once an odor is located, Ozone will attach itself to the odor-causing molecule and oxidize them on contact.

How Is Ozone Beneficial in Removing Odors?

Ozone treatments are very effective at treating odors because the Ozone circulates throughout an area and eliminates odors at their source. Ozone oxidizes odors as it encounters them, whether they are in the air or on surfaces. These include odors from tobacco smoke, food and beverages, body sweat, animals and pets, garbage, remodeling, and many more odor-producing substances. Ozone will also follow the same path that the odors took into soft fabrics and oxidize them on contact. Unlike deodorizers, Ozone does not leave a smell or residue, which some people find objectionable. The treated area becomes free of odors.

How Is Ozone Treatment Different from Deodorizers?

Most deodorizers use a fragrance formulation to counteract odors combined with fragrances to help “mask” them. The fragrances used in deodorization will generally leave some residue in the air and on surfaces. Some people find these fumes unpleasant, while those who are highly sensitive may have an allergen reaction. Ozone, on the other hand, is designed to oxidize odors at their source. It dissipates less than an hour, leaving the air smelling fresh, with no residue. Ozone will even eliminate the heavy smell that can linger from a deodorizer.

Deodorizers “mask” odors, whereas Ozone eliminates them.
