“An employee of a Naples carpet cleaning business was charged with felony grand theft after he admitted stealing a $2,700 necklace from a home where he was working.

Jason Manning, 25, of Fort Myers, turned himself into the Collier County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday after the woman from whom he stole the necklace decided to go forward with a criminal complaint.

A CCSO report said Manning was in the victim’s home on Dec. 15 and took the necklace, then pawned it the next day and used the proceeds to help support a heroin addiction. The victim had said she would not pursue charges if the necklace could be returned, but chose to do so when the pawn shop said the piece had already been melted down.”
